Developed from our time proven performer, the S20 Series II bandsaw, the S20-DS is constructed in the same rugged design as the rest of the Hyd•Mech line, providing Rock Solid performance and dependability. Able to provide exceptional double miter cutting from 60º left to 60º right, the S-20DS is ideal for multiple light and medium sawing applications.

MACHINE CONSTRUCTION & FEATURES

 

The machine base is designed and produced with electro-welded steel components for maximum rigidity and support.

 

A cast iron head supported by a rigid pivot point and double-headed return balance spring reduces and absorbs vibration while cutting.

 

A coolant recovery system with removable coolant reservoir is built into the base.

 

The machine weighs a sturdy 2,370 lbs.

 

The machine carries a 1” blade, which is driven by a 3 HP motor with infinitely variable speed control, and which is directly coupled to the gearbox. No belts & pulleys.

 

Blade Wheels - high quality 17.5” cast iron wheels

 

Blade Guides - replaceable carbide insert guides provide cut accuracy and excellent vibration dampening. Idler side guide arm is easily adjusted for proper guide arm spacing.

 

Powered Blade Brush - driven off the blade drive wheel keeps the blade gullets clean, helping to maximize blade performance and life.

 

Blade Tensioning - mechanical tensioning assembly allowing quick and easy untensioning for blade changing. Blade tension pressure is indicated on a digital readout on the control console ..

Safety interlock will shut the blade drive off if the blade breaks and will not allow blade drive operation unless specified tension pressure is set

 

Vising – cast iron vise on slide ways can be easily positioned to either the left or right side of the head depending on vise position needed. The vise also features replaceable wear strips and is opened and closed through a rotary handle or quick release mechanism.

 

Head Swing – accurate and quickly adjusted angle cutting is provided through an easy swing head frame. The easy to read angle scale allows for positioning of the head from 60º to the left to 60º to the right.

 

Coolant System - a centrifugal pump immersed in the removable coolant reservoir delivers ample coolant flow through carbide faced and nozzle guides. Flow cocks are present for coolant quantity adjustment.

 

Head Feed - the head can be controlled through the cut by using the adjustable gravity feed control (Cut Control System).

 

Controls – conveniently located swing out control box has switches for blade start & coolant control, a graduated feed rate valve for the gravity feed control and an emergency stop button. There is also a digital readout display for blade tension located on the console ..
