The S20P is a semi-automatic, pivot style bandsaw designed to provide exceptional cutting performance in multi-shift, high production environments. Based on Hyd·Mech’s popular S20 manual pivot style machine, it’s ability to miter cut from 90º to 30º makes it a great machine for fabrication jobs. The machine comes with a Sequencer control for semi-automatic operation. The user-friendly manual control switches make for minimum job setup time and cost effective operation. The optional full capacity hydraulic overhead bundling arms provide for efficient high production cutting of various material bundles.

MACHINE CONSTRUCTION & FEATURES

The machine base is designed and produced with electro-welded steel components for maximum rigidity and support.
A removable 6 US gallon coolant tank is built into the base.
Leveling bolts are located at corners of the machine.
The machine weighs a sturdy 2,000 lbs and can support a 5,000lb workload.
A 36” roller infeed table and 27” out feed table provide ample support for a wide variety of work pieces.

The machine carries a 1” blade, which is driven by a heavy-duty gearbox and 3 HP motor. Controlled by a reliable variable frequency drive. The band speed is infinitely variable from 75 to 350 sfm allowing for efficient cutting of many types of material.

Blade Wheels - 16” high quality cast iron wheels with heavy-duty wheel & gearbox shaft bearings.

Blade Guides - replaceable carbide insert guides housed in two heavy duty cast iron guide arms provide cut accuracy of  + / -   .002” per linear inch of material and excellent vibration dampening.  Both guide arms are easily adjusted for proper guide arm spacing.

Powered Blade Brush - driven off the blade drive wheel the 3” blade brush keeps the blade gullets clean, helping to maximize blade performance and life.

Blade Tensioning - mechanical tensioning assembly allowing quick and easy untensioning for blade changing.  Factory preset hardstop for tensioning assembly provides consistent blade tensioning.

Head Swing – accurate and quickly adjusted angle cutting is provided through an easy swing head frame. The easy to read angle scale allows for positioning of the head in 1º increments from 90º to 30º and a cam lock brake provides reliable locking in the desired position.

MACHINE CONSTRUCTION & FEATURES

Coolant System - a centrifugal pump immersed in the 6 US gallon coolant reservoir delivers ample coolant flow through carbide faced and nozzle guides. Flow cocks are present for coolant quantity adjustment.  A wash down hose with spray gun is also mounted at the front of the machine for machine / parts wash down.

Hydraulic System - a 3 HP driven hydraulic pump supplies system pressure.  The system pressure through 3-position directional valves controls all vising, head up/down, and shuttle movement.  The pump and motor assembly and hydraulic manifold complete with all function directional valves all swing out with the hydraulic compartment door for easy service access, and minimal downtime.
Hyd-Mech’s Direct Downfeed system provides easy adjustment of both head feed rate and cutting pressure.  Feed rate readout is displayed on the machine PLC providing accurate adjustment and setup.

Electrical System - the electrical control components are housed in a pedestal base attached to the saw.  The operator manual switches and Sequencer are conveniently located in the cabinet.  Components and wiring are neatly laid out and labeled for easy troubleshooting.

Controls  - conveniently located on the top of the head.
The semi-automatic cycle is controlled by the Sequencer controller:  a Cycle start pushbutton is pushed by the operator to start the cycle.  The machine vise will then automatically clamp on the material, when the blade is manually started, the head will start feeding down for the cut, complete the cut, raise the head, and unclamp the vise.

In Manual mode  - the Sequencer will display digital blade speed readout.

In Automatic mode - the Sequencer displays blade speed and piece count.
