Vertical bandsaws utilize a blade consisting of a long, vertical, flexible continuous band of toothed metal. The band rides on two wheels in the same plane with a space between them. Adjustable guide arms with carbide or roller type blade guides support the blade close to the work. The blade is stabilized by the blade guides. Tilting frame vertical bandsaws can be used for cutting a variety of materials, and are particularly useful for miter cutting.
